An alarm system consists of:

  • The control panel, which is installed at the point where all the cables converge; once the connections have been made and the cables secured with a special adhesive, the panel is locked, with access restricted to qualified personnel and the system user.
     

  • The keypad, which is installed at the entrance to the house, allows users entering or leaving to arm or disarm the system using a four-digit code of their choice.
     

  • The external siren, which is self-protected and positioned high up in a prominent location, so that its presence acts as a deterrent.
     

  • The internal siren, which is mounted on the control panel. When activated, and provided the premises are locked, it emits a loud sound, causing the would-be burglar to panic and flee.
     

  • The battery, which serves as a backup in the event of a power cut or if the mains supply is cut off, ensuring that the alarm system continues to operate normally.

  • The transformer, which takes the 220VAC mains supply and converts it to 16VAC, the voltage at which our system operates.
  • From the motion detectors: when the system is armed, if they detect any movement in the area, the alarm is triggered immediately.
     

  • The magnetic contacts, which are fitted to all window and door frames – whether wooden or aluminium – ensure that we can feel a significant sense of security whilst we are asleep or at home with our family. How does this work? Simply by pressing the ‘stay’ button on the keypad, which means ‘I’m staying’, the motion detectors are automatically deactivated, allowing us to move freely around the house, and all the doors and windows are armed, so that if anyone breaks a window or door, even by half a point, the alarm goes off immediately.
     

  • The GSM unit, which is installed inside the central alarm control panel, provides an alert via mobile phone.
